What is it with our need to be connected? While we may imagine that it makes our everyday lives easier and our work more efficient, how else does it affect us? We sit at our computers with the whole of the internet and it’s vast storehouse of knowledge and information at our fingertips, but it seems that it isn’t until we disconnect that we truly start to “think”. At around midnight yesterday I decided out of the blue to go for a walk and in the quiet night. With a steady and cool breeze blowing about me, I felt like I had thoughts to myself, thoughts reserved only for me that came from me and no other place. The space in my mind once reserved for absorbing information from the internet and other tasks was now being filled with my own thoughts and desires. I guess detaching ourselves and challenging our routines and regimines is oftentimes what we need in order to regain ourselves and our thoughts and truly begin to discover and grow.
